Welcome to the MSF Ireland Press Room

Welcome to the MSF Ireland Press Room. This section of the site is aimed at journalists, photographers, designers and other members of the media interested in working with MSF.

MSF regards ‘speaking out’ about the plight of people caught in humanitarian crises as a core part of our work. We therefore want to be as helpful as possible to journalists covering humanitarian and medical issues.

Our Media and Communications Department offers a reliable service for journalists, connecting the Irish media to teams of international and national emergency MSF aid workers on the ground in more than 60 countries.

We are happy to help you with the following:

PRESS RELEASE LIST/UPDATES
We provide regular updates to journalists on the situation in the 60 countries where we work.

To be added to our press list, please click here to contact Deirdre Mangaoang. Make sure you include your name, the publication/programme you work for, and any specific areas of interest in any communications.

STAFF INTERVIEWS
We can organise interviews with MSF staff working on our projects in the field or with spokespeople in the Irish office.

MULTIMEDIA
We can provide high quality photos and audio-visual footage of humanitarian crises.

ORIGINAL CONTENT
We are happy to provide opinion pieces, comments and articles written by MSF staff and volunteers on health crises and humanitarian aid in conflicts, population movements and natural disasters. Any text on this website may be replicated in other publications free of charge, but please contact our Press Officer to let us know.

MEDIA VISITS TO MSF FIELD PROJECTS
We can facilitate media visits to MSF projects whenever possible (MSF does not pay travel expenses for journalists or photographers). Because MSF works in difficult and insecure environments, we have produced a number of guidelines for journalists visiting MSF projects.

If you're interested in going out to the field with MSF, click the link below to see our basic philosophy and guidelines.
