In August 2011, MSF opened a trauma centre in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan.

Now approaching its one-year anniversary, the MSF team of Afghan and international staff have performed more than 2,500 surgeries and treated more than 6,500 people in the emergency room, all free of charge.

From children injured by unexploded devices, to farmers stepping on landmines, this photo-film illustrates the essential care that MSF provides in a region where trauma and emergency care are otherwise unavailable.
