Chagas
Chagas
Chagas is a deadly parasitic disease found mainly in the Americas.
Millions of people with the disease go undetected and untreated, sometimes for decades. Existing drugs and diagnostic tests are inadequate, expensive and in short supply.
However, without treatment, Chagas can eventually progress to fatally damaging the heart, nervous and digestive systems. Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has battled the disease in countries including Bolivia, Brazil, Honduras and Nicaragua.
