MSF celebrates 25th anniversary of Nobel Peace Prize with speech remix from staff around the world
"Silence has long been confused with neutrality, and has been presented as a necessary condition for humanitarian action. From its beginning, MSF was created in opposition to this assumption. We are not sure that words can always save lives, but we know that silence can certainly kill."
Today, the 10th of December marks a special moment in MSF history. On this day in 1999, MSF brought James Orbinski’s Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech to life. MSF colleagues from across the globe joined in a multilingual performance, highlighting our commitment to humanitarian aid and témoignage—standing in solidarity with those suffering and speaking out against injustice.
