The bombing campaign of the past two weeks has caused massive damage to the last few functioning hospitals in besieged eastern Aleppo.
Dr Abu Huthaifa
Dr Abu Huthaifa and his team work around the clock and can afford only very little rest between the continuous surgeries they have to undertake with a very limited team of professionals.
The Syrian-led coalition has been conducting a bombing campaign against east Aleppo since the end of September, which has resulted in more than 1,600 war wounded.
Besieged east Aleppo is home to 250,000 people, and the few remaining hospitals in the area are overwhelmed. There has been a siege of the city since July so the doctors working around the clock are doing so without sufficient resources to treat their patients. If you want to know what it's like to be a surgeon in east Aleppo, watch Dr Abu Huthaifa’s story.
