Mental health
Our teams provide emergency medical aid in catastrophes all over the world — armed conflicts, natural disasters, famines and epidemics.
However, for people who have lived through these terrible events, the impact on their mental health can be significant.
Because of this, Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has formally recognised the need to provide mental health and psychosocial care as part of our emergency work since 1998.
In 2019, our mental health teams provided 400,200 individual consultations across our projects.
